Who is Dani Baptista

A Poet at heart, Singer by nature. Born and raised in Boston, MA,
she grew up around salt pork and salt fish. Indicative of such a
melting pot, the style is eclectic and original.

No stranger to the stage. At the age of nine, started singing and
stepping in local groups, performing in Boston and surrounding cities.

About the same time, was introduced to Steel Drums, where she began
playing the nine & six-base, and continued that for ten years. During
that time, became a part of a calypso band, which played at
nightclubs and participated in local competitions.

At twenty-two, started seriously writing poetry and lyrics.
Following that began spoken word, and singing wherever she could.
Including solos, background, and competitions.

Participated in the 1999 IMTA-NY convention, earning an *Honorable
Mention and *1st Place for an original work.

Currently a member of one of Television’s only house bands.
